"Washington, D.C. was located between two slave states, Virginia and Maryland. Following Lincoln’s election, the city’s fate was uncertain until the arrival of the first volunteer infantry regiments from New York and Massachusetts in late April 1861."

Civil War Tour of the Minnesota State Capitol
A 90-minute tour of the Capitol with a focus on the Civil War, including battle flags, memorials, and art. Our tour will be led by Brian Pease, Litchfield native and Capitol historian (first 30 tickets sold).​
​
Tickets are $15. Reserve your spot by stopping by the museum, or purchase online via PayPal by using the "Buy Now" option below.


The Museum is happy to help coordinate rides to the Capitol. Please let us know if you are looking to carpool, either as a driver or passenger.
